This feature allows you to review and edit your system-wide preference settings.
When you select 'Preferences' from the BackJack menu, a new window appears allowing you to set the following:
- User Password - update your user password
- Email - edit your email address settings
- Log Size - edit size of BackJack Log
User Password
If your user password is compromised in any way and/or needs to be updated, enter your new password here.
Note: A new password will have to have been set by your administrator before the new password entered in Preferences will be valid.
You have the option of receiving (or not receiving) confirmation emails via the checkbox in the main BackJack Backup Tab window. We recommend that you choose to receive these emails since they confirm backups and summarize important information about your backup session(s) including items backed up, problems (if any), compression achieved, current storage level on our servers, etc. The email address that you provide in this field is where confirmation of your backups are sent.
Note: You can provide multiple email addresses by separating them with a comma (ie. admin@yourcompany.com, joe@yourcompany.com, tech@wherever.com)
Log Size
You can set the maximum size of your BackJack Log here. The log provides detailed analysis of backup sessions and assists in diagnosing any potential problems that you may be encountering with your backups.
You can access the BackJack Log by selecting 'Log' in the Window menu or by pressing <command>+'L'.
Note: The minimum size of your BackJack Log is 1 MB.
