OSX Setup |
Requirements
- This version has a minimum system requirement of Jaguar (10.2.8 or greater)
- User must be logged in prior to backup sessions being able to occur.
Downloading/Installing
- If you have not already done so, download the OS X software by clicking on the following link: http://download.backjack.com/BackJackX.dmg
- Once the download is complete, locate the disk image (entitled BackJackX.dmg) in your Downloads location and double click
- This should open automatically to reveal the BackJack installer icon.
- Double click on the BackJack icon to be guided conveniently through the installation process
- Navigate to the location where you installed BackJack and launch the application file
- You will be guided through the Setup Assistant which is a quick, one-time setup of important information - Continue
- Enter your BackJack Account ID, the password you used during registration (case sensitive) and a computer ID (ie. G4, JoeMac, Server, etc.) - Continue
- If you wish to receive automated confirmation emails at the end of a completed backup session, activate the checkbox in the 'Email Information' screen - these emails are important since they summarize session information including what items were backed up, problems, compression achieved, total compressed amount you are storing - Continue
- Enter a word or phrase to create your encryption key - very important - be sure to document what you enter - this is the most critical piece of information to retain and is the only one never known by us (therefore, we have no way of assisting in the event of disaster should you lose/not know the passphrase) - Done
