How to restore files

Problem
You need to restore files from our servers.
Resolution
If your Mac is OK (you deleted a file or need an older version)
follow the steps on this page. Click Here.
If your HD has failed and been replaced
follow the steps on these pages:
If the Mac that you originally backed up is no longer available (i.e. system failure, irreparable damage, etc.)
- restore your files on another Mac. To do this, follow these steps:
- Install BackJack on the other Mac.
- Restore your files onto the other Mac. **Do not attempt to backup from a different Mac! This may cause damage to your stored files!**
TIP: If you need to restore your files on another Mac, but it is already running BackJack, contact us and we’ll help you get your files back without disrupting the other User.
- restore your files when you have a new Mac and are ready to begin backing up again. You will need to create a new Username on your BackJack account.
To do this, follow these steps:- Install BackJack on your new Mac.
- Restore your files onto your new Mac.
- Close BackJack. Go to ~/Library and drag the folder BackJack5 to the Trash.
- Remove your old Username. Begin reading at the "Removing User" heading
- Create a new Username. Begin reading at the "Add User" heading
