Problem

You need to restore files from our servers.

Resolution

If your Mac is OK (you deleted a file or need an older version)

follow the steps on this page. Click Here.

If your HD has failed and been replaced

follow the steps on these pages:

If the Mac that you originally backed up is no longer available (i.e. system failure, irreparable damage, etc.)

  1. restore your files on another Mac. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Install BackJack on the other Mac.
    2. Restore your files onto the other Mac. **Do not attempt to backup from a different Mac! This may cause damage to your stored files!**

TIP: If you need to restore your files on another Mac, but it is already running BackJack, contact us and we’ll help you get your files back without disrupting the other User.

  2. restore your files when you have a new Mac and are ready to begin backing up again. You will need to create a new Username on your BackJack account.

To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Install BackJack on your new Mac.
    2. Restore your files onto your new Mac.
    3. Close BackJack. Go to ~/Library and drag the folder BackJack5 to the Trash.
