| Last Modified: | November 16, 2010 |
| Products Affected: | BackJack 5, Mac OSX 10.5, 10.6 |
| Versions: | All |
| Article: | KB100002 |
Symptoms
- You no longer receive confirmation emails.
- You check your BackJack log and it's been too long since the last backup
Resolution
Check your automatic backup schedule
If the schedule is set correctly
- Make sure that the "Automatically Backup at" box is checked.
- Make sure that your schedule is set the way you want it.
If the schedule is set correctly
make sure that your Mac is awake when BackJack is scheduled to back up...
- Open the System Preferences. This is usually on the dock.
- Open Energy Saver.
- At the bottom right of the Energy Saver window is a button labeled 'Schedule'
- Check the box "Start up or wake". Set it match your BackJack automatic backup schedule
Note: If you are using a MacBook, don't close the lid
- Click OK
and make sure that your Mac is logged in when BackJack is scheduled to back up
- Set up Automatic login. Open the System Preferences.
- Open Accounts. Click on Login Options. You may have to unlock this page.
- Select your Username from the "Automatic login" drop down menu
- Enter your password and click OK.
If the schedule is set correctly and your Mac never goes to sleep
don't log out.
