Backup and Restore Notetaker and Never Forget What Happened in Last Week’s Meeting Again

Description: This article shows you where to find your Notetaker files and settings and how to backup and restore these items.

Backup:

  1. Quit Notetaker
  2. Locate the 'Notetaker' folder found by default here:
    ~/Documents
  3. Copy this folder to your backup media
  4. Locate the 'Notetaker' folder found here:
    ~/Library/Application Support/AquaMinds
  5. Copy this folder to your backup media
  6. Locate the com.aquamind.NoteTaker.plist file found here:
    ~/Library/Preferences
  7. Copy this file to your backup media
  8. You have now successfully backed up Notetaker

Do this with BackJack

Restore:

  1. Quit Notetaker
  2. Recover both 'Notetaker' folders that you backed up
  3. The folder that contains the *.ntx files belongs here:
    ~/Documents
  4. The other 'Notetaker' folder belongs here:
    ~/Library/Application Support/AquaMinds
  5. Recover the com.aquaminds.NoteTaker.plist file that you backed
  6. Enter the username and password for an administrator on your computer and click continue
  7. Locate the 'Notetaker' folder that you just copied into here:
    ~/Documents
  8. Within this folder, control-click a *.ntx file and select "Show Package Contents"
  9. Within the subsequent folder that opens, locate your *.ntx files. These are your project files
  10. Double click one of these *.ntx folders to open it with Notetaker
  11. Launch Notetaker located here:
    /Applications/Notetaker
  12. You have now successfully restored Notetaker
