Selecting Backup Data

By default, Continuum scans your Home Folder for all files and directories that have been previously backed up by Time Machine®. Storage Status

Storage Status

The storage status in the lower left of the window displays the total, consumed, and remaining storage available on the remote storage servers. The selected storage is based on the total amount of data selected in the Backup Tab that the user has determined to have backed up.

The storage gauge turns yellow and then red as selected storage approaches the purchased amount to warn users when they may be running out of available disk space on the remote storage servers.

Automated Backup

Auto Backup

BackJack Continuum monitors Time Machine® for completion of its daily backup. When the 'Run Automatically Each Day' checkbox is checked, Continuum will automatically launch and perform an offsite backup once per day after the daily Time Machine® backup has completed.

Manual Backup

Backup Now Button

Whether you choose to have automated backups or not, the option of performing manual backups is always available by clicking the 'Backup Now' button. You do not have to wait for the daily Time Machine® backup to complete. Continuum will perform its backup based on the hourly backups that Time Machine® has already performed.

Backup Status Window

Once an automated or manual backup is initiated, Continuum displays a backup status window that provides information about the current backup that is taking place.

Upon completion your first BackJack Continuum backup, your offsite data is now available for recovery from the remote storage servers.
