Beta Software Notes (what you need to know)

  • Continuum only installs on Macs with OS X Leopard 10.5
  • Continuum will not launch if Time Machine is disabled
  • Continuum is installed on your Mac at the user level (currently logged in user) - it is not certified to run as root
  • Continuum only functions if: (a) Time Machine has completed an initial backup; (b) Time Machine is turned on; (c) the Time Machine drive is mounted and available
  • Once you start using Continuum, do not change the name of your (a) Time Machine volume (b) Boot volume (c) User login name. If you do, Continuum will re-upload the data and remove the original.

Continuum currently performs backups on files and directories contained only in the user's Home directory as backed up on the Time Machine volume mounted to the computer.

NOTICE: Until final commercial release, further beta releases of BackJack Continuum will require a fresh install of the client software and an initial full backup of your selected computer data. There should be no expectation on the part of beta participants that their data is fully recoverable and that Continuum is to be any part of any solid backup strategy.

If your computer configuration meets the above requirements and you fully understand, agree, and heed to the limited expectations of participation in the Continuum beta program, please proceed with downloading and installing the Continuum software.
