Cancelling Your Account (v4.5.5)

 

To cancel your BackJack Account, you are required to contact us directly. Inactivity on your BackJack Account does not constitute or imply cancellation of the service and you are responsible for all charges incurred on the Account until official cancellation occurs with us. We accept Account cancellation requests via the following methods:

b. Via Phone - toll-free in North America at 1 888 421 0220 or internationally at +1 519 599 5020
c. Via Fax - 519 599 5025

 

Once you have submitted a request to cancel, we will confirm a cancellation date with you so that formal deactivation of the Account can occur and you know when the files will be permanently purged from our servers. Based on your cancellation date, we will review your Account and determine whether a refund is owing to you or whether there are fees payable. This applies to all File Protection Plans offered. Below is a sample of how refunds (or fees payable) are calculated once a cancellation request has been received (all calculations based on a 30-day billing period):

 

Invoice date: 18th of each month
Additional Gbs Reserved: 13
Cancellation date: November 3rd
Plan: Advanced File Protection
Additional users: 2

 

  • Subscription fee - Since your subscription fee is pre-paid on a monthly basis, we calculate what we owe you from your last invoice date (October 18th) until your cancellation date (November 3rd) - in this scenario, the amount we owe you would be 15 unused days (from the 3rd to the 18th) at .583 cents per day* = $8.75
  • Additional GBs - since your storage fees are pre-paid on a monthly basis, we will calculate what we owe you from your last invoice date (October 18th) until your cancellation date (November 3rd) - in this scenario, you prepaid for 13 additional GB @ $6.00 per GB = $78; again, we owe you for 15 unused days at $2.60 per day ($78/30 days) = $39
  • Computer IDs - additional user fees are also considered payable when you have cancelled. In this example, there are 2 additional users at $4.00 per user = $8.00

Summary:

Fees owing to client = $47.75 (8.75 + 39)
Less: Total fees payable by client = $8.00
Total fees owing to client = $39.75

*17.50 subscription fees/30 days = .583 per day

 

Note: Since additional GBs can be purchased at any time throughout the billing period, it's possible that the calculation of storage fees may be based on dates other than the invoice date. These situations will be handled in the same manner as indicated above where we simply calculate what we owe you based on when you paid for additional storage versus your cancellation date.

 

Canceling when the Account is in Suspended Status
If you cancel your Account after it has been placed in suspended status, you remain fully responsible for all charges incurred on the Account from the original unpaid invoice date.

 

Canceling/Deactivating a Computer ID
You can deactivate a Computer ID (user) on your Account via the following methods:

Cancellation and 30-day Money-back Guarantee
We provide a full, 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are dissatisfied with the service for any reason within the first 30 days (30 days from your official subscription date), the full fees initially paid will be refunded completely. This includes the Activation Fee, Monthly Subscription Fee based on your Plan and any additional Gbs purchased. If you paid via credit card, then your card will be credited the full amount. If you paid via check, a refund check will be mailed to you.
